Young entrepreneur from Rotterdam develops VPN with 1 million investment money

Rotterdam, February 15th, 2017 – Start-up GOOSE is the first Dutch VPN. The company offers everyday, non-technical internet users online privacy, protection against hackers and protection against misuse of data. The app is available for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. The in Rotterdam-based start-up was founded by the 26-year-old internet entrepreneur Joeri van de Watering. The investment of 1 million for the development of the VPN comes from investment company Treasure Beheer.

Prevent online abuse

Consumer data is being misused more and more. Van de Watering: “The media and the Government talks a lot about the use of a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to use the Internet in a safe manner. However, in my search for Vpn services, I could not find a single Dutch provider and as an entrepreneur I myself like to do business with a supplier from Netherlands. Also, most foreign Vpn services focus more on the advanced internet user who has a lot of technical knowledge. The software is often tricky to install and there is no customer service or hardly any accessible customer service at all. Because of this, I got the idea to develop a simple, easy-to-use VPN for the everyday internet user.”

Many people are also choosing for VPN because of privacy reasons. “When you visit a website, your IP address is stored, and a profile is being created based on your online behavior.
